czech

before i forget some addresses from the last trip through west-bohemia:

pension kladská, north of mariánské lázne. nice rooms with a view over some ponds, quiet place, perfect food and wine. the first time we visited a place twice, which means something.

near by, in tepla, they restore an old abbey. maybe worth a stay next time. for sure i wanna see that library.

some times the yellow streets in this area change into trails, but i always would give it a try. (don't talk with the driver.) 210 is pretty ok and leads through nice landscapes.

pilsen is worth a visit. from there you have an easy going street without too much traffic to germany, even on working days: e27 to most, 13 to 8 and cross the border at altenberg. if you come from passau, it's an alternative worth to consider if you are in a hurry. on the way you pass by castles, churches and reštaurácia rudolf.

crossing waters

we had to listen to a little bit of plattdütsch before we crossed the border and went from puttgarden to rødbyhavn. in maribo, lolland, herre ordered his first and last scandinavian sausage, which - as the name of the town suggests - tasted and looked like chewing gum. it was there when we made the first contact with colourant food. at least it looked like it. still, oh man, in the restaurants they do cook! no need to go to fancy places, we wouldn't have found nor entered anyhow. a normal looking kro will do. and the nice thing was, that impression stayed with us until - ok i admit- poland.

from lolland to møn over the bridge again. everything looks quite nice and cute and tiny. looks like if a family owns more than 50 square meters they do get lost. from the roadside: they don't have a lot of numbers, but a good tip would be to take one that is marked with the sign: bicycle tour.
the danish street map survived, not because of the paper, that's to thick anyhow, but simply because you won't need it a lot in this country. just head wherever you wanna to and in the end you will find the desired village anyhow. there aren't too many roads on an island.

we found a b&b near møn klint with its chalk cliffs, with a view over the sea and strange but very, very, very cool looking aliens. mons klint

at the other end of the island is a little village, guess the place for kreuzberger or prenzlberger jungeltern my prejudice would suggest. for us it was just too cute, too clean and the desire grew to go back to real life and real roads, heading to københavn.
