This session will explore recent progress in studying and modeling the structure and dynamics of complex networks. This interdisciplinary research field has witnessed an explosive growth in the last few years, mainly due to the contributions of the statistical physics community. Topics of interest to this session include: mapping and characterizing the topology of large-scale real networks; modeling complex networks; dynamic processes on networks (epidemic spreading, search, synchronization). We welcome experimental (network discovery), theoretical and numerical contributions, and network models ranging from universal (applicable to many networks) to specific (e.g. connecting the structure and dynamics of a well-defined real network).
