i missed it, but then i didn't. wondering if in some years anyone will care about/find the update on other places. Update: A day after this story broke, a spokesperson from the China Internet Network Information Center contradicted the CINIC's earlier statement, saying that China has not created any new top-level domains. Instead, the new Chinese-character domain names sit below the TLDs. ICANN confirmed it, saying that the original China Ministry of Information Industry press release was misinterpreted by the People's Daily. i hope they won't fight again years and years over the question: who will be the head of this "m.i.t. clone" of europe. even i think their are better clones to consider, but i don't want to be too pessimistic. just the time schedule 2005 - 2009 doesn't sound too promising. recalling 1969 ~ 1974 or some more years ... ...
