evolution everywhere

turing's early and rejected paper about learning and the mind. some say it was darwin's grandson, who didn't like what he read and who rejected the paper: but was it intelligent machinery, a heretical theory? yet at the turing archive they say it was a lecture given 1951.

in this posthumous essay, turing contends that it may be possible to construct a machine in which there would be an element of randomness and an analogue of the pleasure principle of psychology, that could be taught, and that could eventually be more intelligent than humans.

one may pick computing machinery and intelligence, 1950 (well, at that time darwin's grandson wasn't any longer director at npl). others may also choose intelligent machinery, listend under "unpublished manuscripts and drafts", no dates given ...

asked one of the rumour chaps for clarification. let's see ...
