henso wrote and implemented - as reliable sources say - a nice and simple solution to get rid of these stupid ref spammers, who seem do spam without a goal. it works and it weeps out already most of these urls. thanks and thanks!

well - from what i learned it's not spamming without a goal but with the one of getting higher ranked in search engines. seems to be one of these cases of stupid but logic.

nope, it's just simply stupid. backlinks (referrers) in antville are ignored by all search engines, so referrer spam here has been useless for years now. but that didn't lead to less spamming, just the contrary. and i doubt that hannes' solution will lead to less spam requests (the nice thing is that now they can do much less harm to this system here). (referrer-) spamming is simply too cheap.
