what about a cultural theory/history about tiny? how things got tiny? so tiny that you can't find/use them anymore? when became tiny and the invisible a thread? the only thing i found so far was virilio's "ästhetik des verschwindens". can't be. beside the history of kilby, nanostuff and norman's invisible computer ... ... In my old work about Cyborgs I covered some of those aspects in context with technology becoming not only smaller but also closer to the body, more personalized. ... Link

yap, but that is not the direction i wanna go. i also don't want extropian phantasies. i wanna know, when is something that small that it looses its effect. it can't neither be understood nor used by human kind ... by writing these my neurons spin to the religious corner.. ¡joder! ... link

Luhmann can be anything, that's why he's so big. Besides Moore's "Law" nothing comes to my mind right now. And that's not really a scientific text. Another thought is that people sometimes tend to conceal technology (or non-technology like the chess-playing Turk) and making it smaller and smaller is certainly a way of concealing things. Making something very intricate is also a way of making something more precious. ... link
