battery short lifespan let me change to tamiya. the recorder just sucks a lot of energy. the 4xaa batteries worked for 2 hours in the field, if you switch it on and off and don't record on bloc. latter will let you record for 3hours, which nearly is the same amount of time you get on 2gb. now i understand the advantage of a recorder with a build-in recharger as the charger for tamiya is such a heavy brick. the good thing though, it takes 90 minutes and can be connected to a 12v dc cigar lighter socket.
