i missed

dave thomas at ecoop. he couldn't come and i hope it's nothing too bad that kept him away. would have loved to have the chance to talk with him again and ask some questions.

enjoyed the refactoring crowd, though. andrew black was great, presenting "floss and root canal refactoring", ralph johnson interesting and danny dig very helpful. thanks! learned that i could refactor participants, but still wondering if i could refactor history, too.

a lot about concurrency and a cynical joe armstrong. lucas cardelli was from another planet, at least for me. a lot of formulas on the screen. at the end i have to say: if i hadn't met real educators on my way and my first contact to that - still mostly chaps - would have been 21st ecoop in germany and not NetObjectDays 2001 in erfurt, i would have less fun to listen. by the way armstrong must have enjoyed to get the chance to open the 21st european opject oriented programming conf at the 21st anniversary of the "initial development of erlang".

parallism everywhere. general purpose computing: i am wondering, if this term is only known to historians or those who have been around long enough.
