lssi got approved. it took them two years, and now they got something who knows will have fun with. with the final version of lssi, ley de servicios de la sociedad de la información, the spanish government served the cybernautas well: without a judge, just with a "competent authority", websites can be forced to close down if they violate principales of personal and family privacy, religion, believe, security (private and state), ... but don´t worry too much. no. what falls under freedom of expression is allowed, and can propably be treated as e-commerce?¿?

in general the law follows the legislación comunitaria de eu, but just goes a little bit further. regarding what you are allowed to write on the net, regarding spamming (is forbidden: for mobile and fixed communication), following the opting in and out modell (something the rest of europe is on), regarding e-commerce.

en spain e-commerce is treated in two ways: direct and indirect: any activity that can generate income. nobody knows how far it will go right now.

the fight against that law, that went on since last year, was hold in the corner, because the final draft just got published after it passed the consejo de ministros. everything that was labeled as bad, was named speculation, simply because there were different papers out there: easy way of keeping the opposition on their seats. they just had to say: no no, in version 0.99 we wrote blabla
