"don't panic - do it in parallel"

hard to find a paper from alfred inselberg online. just some turn arounds so far. parallel coordinate graphics the curses and blessings of dimensionality

For example, in 1917 the physicist Ehrenfest showed that planetary orbits are stable only in dimension 3. (AI)

and all began 1854 when j. snow plotted cholera deaths in london, to find out what caused the epidemic ...

tufte tells the story as an early success story of visualization. (pointer from ai)

of course

with such a boring and reactionary government as in this day and place (oh du schönes österreich) it is quite impossible, but i envision a future which uses "drug-augmented computing" for the better.

it has been shown that people on (absolutely harmless) low doses of psilocybin (magic shrooms) are able to fluently read text even when they only see one-third of each character.
what this means is that pattern recognition is heavily amped.

so we should-could also employ these things for people who dive into virtual reality spaces to discover patterns, say in the reactions of the human body to a medicament. I have been working on visualization research, and i think it would help a lot. but it is impossible.

from what i've heard of leary

i am no big fan of his. did they use lsd for anything beside travelling inner worlds?

(i mean, that's fun, but not science.)
